The literal translation of Kelsie Mackie's first name is "by the sea," which would be fitting even if this born and raised Maui girl had not spent her youth riding horses and playing in the waves along the island's north shore. Keliki, Kelsie's Hawaiian name shares the same meaning. With family clothing stores throughout the Hawaiian islands, Kelsie's youth included trips to the neighbor islands as well as production facilities in Bali.
Acting as an assistant buyer over the years, Kelsie attended fashion and trade shows in Los Angeles, Florida and New York City. While pursuing her degree in Business with a minor in International Business at University of San Diego, Kelsie took advantage of the surf apparel industry by accepting a design internship at Roxy/Quicksilver.
Before graduation in May 2014 Kelsie had already started brainstorming her first collection. An avid traveler and global girl, Kelsie now splits her time between Maui, Laguna Beach and Bali, keeping her island roots close at hand through Keliki, her beach-to-bonfire clothing brand of affordable separates in custom prints; perfect for sun-loving babes everywhere!
