Greeting Cards Get a ‘Life’
Believed to be born with a creativity that was dying to be unleashed, FBI member Rocio Soler began her journey into the fashion industry as an intern at the age of fifteen.  She began her career as a clothing designer, but later, Rocio applied her talent of fashion design to an area of opportunity that few in the industry would even think to attempt.  Combining creativity with chic, Rocio crafted a line of greeting cards she calls Jolie Vie, “pretty life” in French.  In order for Rocio to embark on such a venture, she must have an incredible motivational drive to help her through the winding path of success.  Rocio’s inspirations and motivations are derived from many different sources.  “Big risks mean big success.”  This is the encouragement Rocio takes from her business savvy father.  She credits Chanel and living in America as her creative influences.   “I feel there is so much opportunity for everyone [in America], and the sky is the limit.  The U.S. has the most amazing success stories.”  Jolie Vie proves to have conquered that winding path.

The success of Ms. Soler’s card line has not been without tactics and trials.  The burden that accompanies the responsibility of owning a business, especially at a younger age, contributes to the stress felt by the entrepreneur.  As someone with true ambition, however, she says, “I try to embrace everything that comes my way as a learning experience.”  She intentionally chose Southern California as the base of her operations because she feels that it is best to live among the target demographic so as to better understand it…the year-round sunshine doesn’t hurt either.

The line of greeting cards now includes well over 200 styles and counting.  She says, “I looked for the road less traveled and felt that greeting cards could really use an update!”  The cards feature six girls that all have their own style and their own personality profile which may be viewed at http://www.jolievie.com .  Purchases may be made through the website, but the fashionably fun cards may also be found at “the kind of stores we like to buy gifts at”, such as Rebel in Newport Beach.

“The next step for me and my company is to keep stepping.”  Rocio credits the FBI for educating her on what it takes to shift her business to the next level.  She receives much guidance from the FBI and is grateful for the help she has received from Frances Harder, a woman she views as knowledgeable and admirable.  Rocio will count on the FBI to help her and her company realize their vision.  “I want Jolie Vie to grow into a full lifestyle company that girls everywhere can count on for quality and soulful products.”  Years from now, Rocio wishes to see her company continue to grow and be positioned on a much larger scale.
