On June 26, Fashion Business Incorporated held its annual fund-raiser and fashion show in the New Mart. Designer Richard Tyler was presented with the Synergy award for his "dedication, hard work and success in the field of fashion." A runway presentation showcasing styles from the Fall 2003 collection of the secondary Tyler label was a highlight of the evening. Models sauntered down the catwalk wearing Tyler's trademark crisp, tailored suits and dresses of supple, draped velvet that had a touch of Hollywood glamour.
Over 500 guests attended the event, which featured the live music of Cindy Alexander and a raffle for several prizes, including a Richard Tyler ensemble, Jet Blue tickets to New York and Florida, and a Sprint picture phone. FBI founder Frances Harder said of the event, "The FBI is working to bring the world of fashion together with the world of entertainment. This evening was a win-win for all, and an important link for both industries."
