The Fashion Business Incorporated (FBI) - California's premier non profit organization devoted to promoting small businesses in the fashion industry, has teamed up with an elite group of up and coming designers, to create a unique buying environment for the fast approaching fall 2003 market week.
The FBI's "Emerging Designers" project has now been expanded to include a co-op showroom, located in the new FBI resource center, on the second floor of the "New Mart" in downtown L.A.
The nine, juried companies being showcased this market represent the entire spectrum of today's diverse retail environment. “Synergy”, as the alliance is calling itself, was a moniker thought to fully represent the group's energy and dedication to promoting sales through honesty, cooperation and new age business support that the FBI represents.
Just what can you expect to find at the FBI Emerging Designers’ showroom this season? What CAN'T you find is a more appropriate question! Featured companies include:
BELEK, by Wes Stengel - A line of contemporary separates for modern, progressive women, who know what they want (and how to wear it).
[UN] DESIGNED, by Carol Young- a clean, contemporary label that focuses on line, texture and shape, to bring you a selection of garments that appeal to the "urban nomad" in us all.
BARBARA B., by Barbara Baumann – add a little glamour to your life with her classically styled, trademark dusters. As a former photojournalist and Hollywood producer, Barbara's line delivers that "touch of mink" all women secretly desire.
SUZI CLICK – Suzi offers a line of unique and luxurious wraps, scarves and tops, targeted at the bohemian, unapologetically feminine consumer.
MAGDA KNITS, by Magdalena Garcia – as the name implies, Magda Knits specializes in body conscious, knitted pieces that both enlighten your spirit and spice up your wardrobe.
S.HOPPER, by Susan Hopper – a line of purses, pajama's and t-shirts...and a new sportswear line "Susie Hopper"...both labels appeal to women who have a vintage sensibility and an eye for detail.
DARCIE EMMERSON - mix one part suburban goddess and two parts glamour and what do you get? Darcie Emmersons line of ultra contemporary, coordinated sportswear and dresses.
ANNE RICHARDSON – an English transplant who now resides in Los Angeles, Ann offers hand loomed couture knitwear, for both day and evening.
BODY GEOMETRY, by Laurie Schafer – exquisite, embellished art couture with an Asian flair, for both day and evening
