The Secret to sourcing “TOP TALENT’ in a tight economy!
Lets face it…we are “all” in search of incredible talent. The real question is “how to” find them when there is an economic slow down. In the Fashion industry talent is not only difficult to find but the talent you may really want is hesitant to leave the comfort zone of their current employer even if they are unhappy. So, how do you find them?
The answer today is the employment and utilizing of recruiting professionals skilled in the art of recruiting.
While you waste valuable time, money and disappointment running ads, wading through stacks of response resumes that rarely fit the job description. Then when and if you do find someone who “may” look good, the screening process for you is both time consuming and often tedious. Your work backlogs, production and timelines for delivery fail to be met due to the lack of key positions left open and unfilled.
Professional recruiters fill the gap; they are sourcing talent from your competitors (not job boards) and doing pre-screening to your specifications saving you time and money. Your day to day activities, job duties and deadlines continue to be met and you remain productive in your true core business function.
Don’t let the fees scare you…they are typically 20 – 30% of the first years annual salary and come with a guarantee of satisfaction for the first 30 – 90 days…or they are replaced for FREE!
A skilled recruiter works closely with you to insure that you have the right fit. This is a minimal investment (and a tax write off) if you are looking at the “long term” rewards of what this talent brings to the table. It is also important to note that no fees are due to the recruiter until the candidate actually starts your job.
Another key to the hiring process is having a sense of urgency on your part when a strong candidate is presented. Remember that momentum is built and the quicker you can respond to your recruiter, interview the candidate, get them through the hiring process and make a hiring decision and offer, the more likely you will be to secure the candidate you desire.
If this is a new concept for you, I strongly recommend you give outside recruiters a try. There are several in Los Angeles and across the country who “specialize” in the apparel, fashion, creative industries and currently have pools of working talent ready to make a move.
This could be the easiest search you have ever conducted and the quickest way to get your line on the runway!
