Job Satisfaction
Q. What would motivate you to consider a job move or change?
A. In a 2007 job satisfaction survey, the top 3 reasons across the board that may motivate a valued employee to consider a job move or change were: *
- A better salary
- A better job or position
- Better “growth” potential
*The retail, store level and e-commerce talent respondents were the most likely to move with a % rate of 91% of the individuals surveyed.
*Design and production came in a close 2nd and 3rd at 89 and 87%.
What does this mean to you?
Today’s workforce is loyal but forward-moving at the same time. They are the “instant gratification” generation and need to feel a part of the team, process and profitability of your company.
While salary isn’t the “only” consideration workers are also motivated by knowing they add value, are seen as contributing to the success of your company and vision, have an understood career path and know that growth is possible.
Turnover is EXPENSIVE on so many levels for an employer….Get feedback from your employees….then take care of them.
